I finally got my hands on the last book in the Hunger Games series!
Yes, it is better than the second part. This book did tie up all the loose ends nicely, finished all the stories and ended up in a predictable way.
When you are a mascot you are not supposed to think, do, or say anything off the script you were given. Katniss Everdeen had a problem with that. Somehow she ended up rebelling both against the capital and the rebels. Broken, a bit mad, and lost – this was the girl who was on fire.
You know, even though the use of the media in this book was slightly exaggerated, it is true, people of our age have no other source of information. All we know about the wars, the natural disasters, and etc. we know from media. The media does have the power to motivate, demotivate, and form the opinion of the people.
Another thing that the book shows is how similar the people wielding power actually are, of course Snow showed himself from a far worse side than Coin did, but her final action, even though logical, was the final proof of her being similar to Snow in more than one sense.
And, of course, Plutarch is right, destruction is the nature of humans and we do have a short memory, so the happy times of peace, when everyone agrees, do not last long.
I cannot say that these three books are obligatory to read, but they have some good thoughts in them, and, if not for a grownup person, then for a teen they are quite a read.
